Funeral service for Donald M. Alexander, 77, Sterling will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Sterling with Pastor Kippy Ackley and Hollis Howard, officiating. Burial will follow at the Sterling Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Mr. Alexander passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in Sterling, Oklahoma.
Donald was born November 19, 1932 in Sterling, OK to Johnnie “Buck” and Era (Summers) Alexander. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1951. Donald married Almeada Bradshaw on May 4, 1952 in Sterling, OK. The couple was married for 57 years. Don served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 until he was discharged in 1955. Don worked for Civil Service from June of 1951 until retiring in 1988. He worked for a defense contractor for 2 years after he retired from Civil Service. He owned and ran the Don Alexander Antenna Service for 27 years. Don was a member of the Sterling Lions Club and served as president. He was a lifetime resident of Sterling and an active member of the First Baptist Church. Don enjoyed the computer and geneology. He liked to travel with his wife Almeada in their RV and was a member of the Good Sams and Buffalo Sams RV clubs.
Survivors include his wife, Almeada Alexander of the home; 1 daughter, Paula Hale and her husband Craig of Sterling; 2 sons: Gary Don Alexander and his wife Mary of Sterling and Brad W. Alexander and his wife Tana of Cyril; 1 brother, Terry Alexander and his wife Susan of Lodi, CA; 1 sister, Jan Smith and her husband Mike of Franklin, TN; 11 grandchildren: Charlie Hale and Mary Phelps, Melissa Alexander Opra, Aaron Alexander and his wife Marielle, Misty Squyres, Kasey Deull and her husband Carl, Jack Holland and his wife Jennifer, Elizabeth Alexander, Canda Coley Alexander, and Lacey, Austin, and Bradley Alexander; and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Era Alexander; 1 brother, Gary Dale Alexander, and 1 grandson, Christopher Hale.
